Did You Know?

Some of the most toxic ingredients in our foods are:
  • sodium nitrate - a preservative linked to cancer
  • hydrogenated oils - partially is the worst and is linked to cardio issues and birth defects
  • high fructose corn syrup - messes up the endocrine system, and may lead to bone loss, sometimes referred to as "liquid sugar crack".
  • artificial colors - banned in some European countries, linked to hyperactivity
  • processed salts - may increase blood pressure
  • phosphoric acid - found in sodas, contributes to bone loss
  • chemical sweeteners - linked to a variety of health related problems such as brain tumors (aspartame a.k.a NutraSweet, Equal), bladder cancer (saccharin a.k.a. Sweet 'n' Low), or are suspected of being carcinogenic (sucralose a.k.a. Splenda); beware of all products marketed as sugar free or diet
  • homogenized fats - contributes to heart disease, blocked arteries, auto-immune diseases
  • sodium benzoate - preservative linked to cell damage, hyperactivity
  • MSG and yeast extract - neurotoxicity, other names may be autolyzed, hydrolized and sometimes even listed just as "flavoring"
These are very common ingredients found in our foods. And while you may feel safe eating just some of these ingredients some of the time, imagine their cumulative effects in your body and potential for interaction with other toxic chemicals you've consumed. No wonder cancer rates and other diseases continue to climb and children are being diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, early onset puberty and even Type 2 diabetes! We suggest reading all labels and buying as natural and organic as you can. We want to inspire you and not scare you. It is much easier to shop for healthy food than you might think. Think in terms of fresh veggies and fruit. Frozen veggies and fruits would be a second choice. Again check the ingredient label. Here's to your health!
